Apple continues to sell huge amounts of iPhones, despite missing optimistic analyst prediction the company is thriving and making vastly more money than any other mobile brand. CEO Tim Cook was in good mood after Cupertino’s fiscal fourth quarter earnings call, saying the company is taking the fight to Android and starting to make serious headway in China. Cook claimed that a massive 30% of all iPhone sales in the last quarter came from consumers who were switching to Apple’s iOS from Android. He also said that the iPhone will continue to grow in terms of sales, with two thirds of iPhone owners still owning a model that is two generations old, meaning consumers will be upgrading to the newer handsets soon. Ladda klockan genom MacBook Pro Apple har släppt en ny trådlös batteriladdare som är försedd med en USB-C-kontakt till skillnad från den traditionella batteriladdaren som är försedd med en USB-A-kontakt. Google fixar stöd för hörapparater i Android

Gör som Apple Google har tagit fram specifikationer för att streama ljud från androidtelefoner till hörapparater via Bluetooth utan att detta ska ta så mycket batteri som Bluetooth-kopplingar vanligtvis gör. Google kallar specifikationen för ASHA (Audio Streaming for Hearing Aids) och det ska vara utvecklat för att dra så lite batteri som det bara är möjligt från både telefonen och hörapparaten. För att åstadkomma detta använder man Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) som Bluetooth standardorganisation Bluetooth SIG släppte under namnet "Bluetooth Smart" 2011.

Enligt Evan Blass (@evleaks) kommer Google att släppa skarpa versionen av nya Android 20 augusti. Google gav ut sista förhandsversionen av systemet 26 juli och datumet passar in med företagets ursprungliga schema. Förra året släpptes fabriksbilder för Android 8.

Sakta men säkert går det framåt Det var ett bra tag sedan Android-utvecklarna levererade lite färska siffror om de olika Android-versionerna. Enligt de senaste siffrorna har Android Oreo installerats på 12,1 procent av samtliga Android-enheter ute i världen, vilket är ett rejält hopp från siffrorna vi fick i april då Oreo endast låg på 4,6 procent. Android Nougat är fortfarande den mest populära Android-versionen med 30,8 procent.

Livet strular fortfarande Tidigare i år levererade LinusTechTips en video om lite bekymmer gänget haft med Apple när det kommer till reparation av deras iMac Pro. Mer specifikt behövde gänget ersätta komponenter i datorn, men möttes av motstånd från Apple som inte hade någon lust att utföra reparationen. iOS appbutik har försett oss med appar i decennium Den här månaden är det tio år sedan Apple släppte App Store till iOS från vilken iPhone-användare kunde ladda hem 500 stycken appar till sina telefoner. App Store var givetvis en välkommen nyhet till alla de som köpte sina första iPhones 2007 eller i början av 2008 då apparna till telefonen gjorde denna betydligt mycket mera intressant. Apples marknadschef Phil Schiller säger i ett uttalande: "In its first decade, the App Store has surpassed all of our wildest expectations -- from the innovative apps that developers have dreamed up, to the way customers have made apps part of their daily lives -- and this is just the beginning.

Apple is continuing to make significant strides in the enterprise market and through the third quarter of this year (June 1 to September 30) the company was responsible for 66% of all enterprise devices activated. The company’s iOS platform, which includes iPhones and iPads, led the way in the market and rose 2% compared to the 64% enterprise activations in the second quarters. Interestingly Apple made the most headway in the tablet market, with the company’s iPad accounting for 71% of all enterprise slates activated in Q3.
