Microsoft Band Review Recap

Daily Mobile - Allt om Mobiltelefoner - Igår: 23:22

Microsoft's Band has been on the market for about two weeks and it has become a dividing device. Microsoft claims that it wearable has sold well, but plenty of rumors say stock was very limited (some suggest 5,000 units), while most opinions seem to point to the fitness band being very much a first device in a possible future evolution. It feels like a prototype many reviews have said, but after spending some time with it I think it is more of a vehicle for Microsoft's Health suite.

Microsoft is now fully in charge of Nokia's handset division and now Nokia can use it's own name on whatever it likes as long it's not smartphones and they did just that by introducing an Android tablet the other day.  The trouble is no one at Nokia actually made it. They designed it, put their name on it and slapped the Nokia X launcher on it over top of Lollypop.

Feber.se - i förrgår: 09:28

Microsoft launched its first ever wearable a couple of weeks ago in the form of the Microsoft Band, a fitness tracker that also offers a few smartwatch features too, while it is open across all major mobile platforms. The device launched in Microsoft stores around the United States and on the company’s online store and promptly sold out very quickly. A success for Redmond it seems, although many reports emerged saying that Microsoft did not have much inventory to sell out of in the first place, with the number thought to be 5,000 units.

Daily Mobile - Allt om Mobiltelefoner - Igår: 22:21

Industry compiler Consumer Reports has finished a new study conducted between some 60,000 users of wireless carriers throughout the United States. The results show that none of the big four networks excel at the top of the class, but three of them are doing decidedly better than one. It seems that consumers crave the simple things in terms of what they get such as good customer care, and of course to feel like they are getting a deal.

Daily Mobile - Allt om Mobiltelefoner - 20 Nov 14 kl. 15:26

Apple has made a move recently which is very minor but may save them from a ton of legal issues in the long run.  Apple has started to relist all of their apps that we are use to being labeled as "free" and they now have labeled them as "get".  Why would they do such a thing?

Daily Mobile - Allt om Mobiltelefoner - 19 Nov 14 kl. 17:38

Google’s new Android 5.0 Lollipop has been finding its way to devices over the last two weeks, but as is the case with new software there are some bugs (just ask Apple how that is). A couple of little quirks in the Lollipop experience have been found alongside the features we do want such as the good looking Material Design, increased security, and multiple new features.

Daily Mobile - Allt om Mobiltelefoner - 19 Nov 14 kl. 16:57

LG might have detailed its plans to have bendy smartphones on the market by 2017, but it is actually fellow Korean company Samsung leading the charge in this niche. The company will beat LG to the punch and has actually been innovating in this field for some time with its Project YOUM and of course the already launched Galaxy Note Edge. The Note Edge only has a two sided screen pasted onto a rigid chassis, the next step is to have a device that is actually a bendy piece of glass that is foldable.

Daily Mobile - Allt om Mobiltelefoner - 19 Nov 14 kl. 12:35

HTC’s One M8 for Windows Phone has been with us for two months now and probably offers the only true flagship experience on Microsoft’s platform. When it first launched it was a Verizon exclusive, leading to fears that the device was simply too limited to aid the Windows Phone cause. Since the initial launch the One M8 WP has found its way to AT&T and tomorrow will also be available through T-Mobile.

Nokia Surprises With N1 Tablet

Daily Mobile - Allt om Mobiltelefoner - 18 Nov 14 kl. 16:34

Nokia may have left the smartphone making game, but the company is clearly still into hardware after surprising many today with the new N1 tablet. Only the company’s second ever slate, this is an Android running tablet that is being made in conjunction with Chinese brand Foxconn, with Nokia licensing the software, design, and brand name. Your eyes do not device you as the N1 is almost a like for like clone of Apple’s iPad Mini; it takes the level of influence and turns it into pastiche.
