Bebylon vann realtids-kategorin på SIGGRAPH Förra veckan arrangerades CGI-mässan SIGGRAPH i Vancouver där det visades upp grejer som vi antagligen kommer att få se i framtida grafik som genererats av datorer. Det amerikanska företaget Kite & Lightning var på plats och visade upp sitt rätt så imponerande motion capture-projekt Bebylon. Det handlar om en "CGI-bebis" som i realtid följer en människas rörelser via en iPhone X samtidigt som det går att byta ut bebisens ansikte och annat medan det hela spelas in.

iPhone 6 börjar brinna i bil

Hade fått sig ett piratbatteri Här ser vi en iPhone 6 som helt plötsligt fattar eld när den ligger på instrumentbrädan i en bil. Tydligen hade kvinnans man låtit byta ut batteriet i telefonen några månader tidigare, och det som sattes i var inte original utan pirat. Företaget som gjorde operationen har erkänt att det var batteriet som orsakade branden.

En titt på höstens tre nya iPhones

Det här är prototyperna Om ryktena stämmer kommer tre nya iPhones i höst. Alla tre kommer att ha en notch, alla tre kommer att ha glasbaksida och alla tre kommer att skärm över nästan hela framsidan. Om dessa rykten stämmer kommer vi alltså inte att få se en uppdaterad version av iPhone 8 och iPhone 8 Plus.

Logitech släpper iPhone-docka med trådlös laddning

Laddar på alla håll Logitech har tillsammans med Apple utvecklat iPhone-dockan Powered vilken kan ladda upp iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus och iPhone X trådlöst. Som synes på bilderna här kan man ha iPhone både vertikalt och horisontellt i Powered och oavsett hur iPhonen läggs i dockan så laddas telefonens batteri upp. Då Powered använder sig av Qi-standarden för att ladda upp telefonerna trådlöst går det givetvis att ladda andra telefoner än iPhones i dockan så länge dessa har stöd för Qi.

Nästa iPhone kan få stöd för dubbla SIM-kort

Ny kod hittad i iOS 12-beta Mac9to5 har gått igenom den femte betaversionen av iOS 12 som släpptes igår och i koden hittat referenser som antyder att framtida iPhones kan få stöd för dubbla SIM-kort. Ryktena säger nu att den största av de kommande iPhone X-modellerna, den som ryktas ha en OLED-skärm på 6,5 tum, även kommer att få stöd för dubbla SIM-kort i vissa regioner, oklart vilka. Apple förväntas att presentera nya iPhones i september.

Inga Qualcomm-modem i nästa iPhone

Det blir nog Intel-grejer istället Qualcomms ekonomichef George Davis har uppgett att Apple inte kommer att använda företagets modem i Apples kommande iPhone-modeller. Dessa kommer istället Apple att köpa in från en konkurrent till Qualcomm uppger Davis. "We believe Apple intends to solely use our competitor's modems rather than our modems in its next iPhone release.

Apple släpper ny reklamfilm för iPhone X

Fokuserar på A11 Bionic-chippet Här är Apples senaste reklamfilm för iPhone X och i den fokuserar man på att lyfta fram iPhone X och dess A11 Bionic-chip. Det handlar alltså om Apples egenutvecklade chip som man anser ger iPhone en prestandamässig fördel när det kommer till grafikhantering jämfört med konkurrerande Andorid-modeller. Spelet som spelas i Apples reklamfilm "Unleash" är Vainglory vilket ni hittar en trailer till här nedan.

Samsungs telefoner har snabbare internet än iPhone

Även Googles Pixel 2-telefoner smiskar iPhone på det området Analysföretaget Ookla har jämfört nedladdningshastigheten för några av mobiltillverkarnas flaggskeppsmodeller och enligt deras siffror så är Samsung Galaxy S9 nu den "snabbaste" telefonen på den amerikanska marknaden. Ookla har analyserat data från hundratusentals tester med de olika modellerna och Galaxy S9 hade i USA en genomsnittlig nedladdningshastighet på 38,9 megabits per sekund. När man testade Apples senaste telefoner så var iPhone X nedladdninghastighet 29,7 Mbps medan iPhone 8 och iPhone 8 Plus hastigheter låg på 28,6 Mbps respektive 29,5 Mbps.

Apple Dominates Enterprise Activations in Q3

Apple is continuing to make significant strides in the enterprise market and through the third quarter of this year (June 1 to September 30) the company was responsible for 66% of all enterprise devices activated. The company’s iOS platform, which includes iPhones and iPads, led the way in the market and rose 2% compared to the 64% enterprise activations in the second quarters. Interestingly Apple made the most headway in the tablet market, with the company’s iPad accounting for 71% of all enterprise slates activated in Q3.

Numbers announced by Apple today show that adoption to iOS 9, including the newly launched iOS 9.1 is going swimmingly, with some 66 per cent of all compatible iPhone and iPads now running the software. iOS 9 is the latest full build release of Cupertino’s mobile platform, and it seems as though customers are eager to get it.

Apple Continues to Target Android

Apple continues to sell huge amounts of iPhones, despite missing optimistic analyst prediction the company is thriving and making vastly more money than any other mobile brand. CEO Tim Cook was in good mood after Cupertino’s fiscal fourth quarter earnings call, saying the company is taking the fight to Android and starting to make serious headway in China. Cook claimed that a massive 30% of all iPhone sales in the last quarter came from consumers who were switching to Apple’s iOS from Android.
